Reducing energy consumption in radiology: Evaluating the effectiveness of applying operational strategies to devices to reduce the energy consumption of radiology departments – a narrative review

Why I chose this topic: I selected this topic because climate change and sustainability have always been an interest of mine. When I was a student radiographer on placement, I could not help but notice the amount of waste that hospitals created with little to no regard for things like recycling or energy efficiency. I wanted to study an intervention that radiographers themselves could easily implement to help to make radiology departments more sustainable. I hope that my work will inspire radiographers and other healthcare professionals to try to make hospitals greener places.
