Radiography belongs to the allied health professions (AHPs) group, which makes up about 40% of health and social care workers in the UK1. AHPs represent approximately 500,000 of the 1.2 million healthcare workforce, according to recent NHS staffing statistics, and radiographers constitute approximately 4% of this group1. There is a great potential for the radiography profession (both diagnostic and therapeutic) to drive service development for both the patients and the organisation through engagement in research and evidence-based practice (EBP)2.
