Growing beyond the traditional role: how one opportunity reshaped my career

The Championing Enhanced Practice in Radiography (CHEERs) project, led by experts from Sheffield Hallam University and the University of Bradford, was an NHS England-funded project commissioned by the College of Radiographers. It was designed to promote a shared understanding of enhanced-level practice across the radiography profession in the UK¹. 

By uniting clinical, academic and professional stakeholders, the project aimed to address knowledge gaps, strengthen alignment with national frameworks and build a confident, future-ready workforce². Part of the project involved training a dedicated cohort of enhanced practice champions, CHEERs, who worked to further share enhanced practice.
