Abstract
Introduction
The radiotherapy workforce relies upon clinical placements to prepare student radiographers to become qualified radiographers registered with the HCPC. The need for strong learning modalities outside of students' clinical placement is prevalent, and research indicates that student radiographers benefit from learning sessions that take place using simulation because it is practical learning outside of the clinical setting. The aim of this primary research was to measure if there was an increase in confidence for students immediately following a lesson in a virtual radiotherapy simulation.
Methods
Year 1 radiotherapy and oncology students were invited to participate in this study, with one questoinnaire, with one given before their lesson in Virtual Environment for Radiotherapy Training (VERT), and one following.
